About the author:
Alexander Trifonov is a Russian painter of the third generation of the Russian Avant-garde, born in 1975 in Moscow. He studied at the Moscow Polytechnic Institute, where he obtained a degree in design. He has worked in Moscow theater since the early 1990s. Since 1993, he has also collaborated with Moscow Art Kino and worked as a designer for many magazines and advertisements. He is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. He has exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions (Moscow, New York, Jersey City, Malta). His exhibition at the prestigious Moscow gallery A-3 was opened by Eduard Drobitsky, president of the International Federation of Painters at UNESCO. Trifonov is a prominent follower of the Russian avant-garde and one of the leaders of the artistic concept known as receptualism. For Trifonov, being a painter means creating his own, unique world. Trifonov explores the deep laws of visual means. Intuitive composition gives way to the principles of regularity of relationships. He constructs the image’s structure with colored planes in which pure color is the very bearer of form.
