About the author:

Alexander Trifonov is a Russian painter of the third generation of the Russian Avant-Garde, born in 1975 in Moscow. He studied at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute, where he earned a degree in design. He has been working in Moscow theater since the early 1990s. Since 1993, he has also collaborated with Moscow Art Cinema and worked as a designer for many magazines and advertisements. He is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. He has exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions (Moscow, New York, Jersey City, Malta). His exhibition at the prestigious A-3 gallery in Moscow was opened by Eduard Drobitsky, president of the International Federation of Painters under UNESCO. Trifonov is a prominent follower of the Russian avant-garde and one of the leaders of the artistic concept known as receptualism. For Trifonov, being a painter means creating one’s own, unique world. He explores the deep principles of visual means. Intuitive composition gives way to principles of regularity in relationships. The structure of the painting is built from colored surfaces where pure color is the bearer of form.
