Varganov Alexander – Predatory Agave

About the author:Born in 1983 in Minsk, Belarus. He moved with his family to Russia, to St. Petersburg, where he enrolled in a prestigious art school, and in 2001 he enrolled in the Communication Design program at the Academy of Arts and Industry in St. Petersburg – SPGHPA. He graduated in 2006 and earned a master’s degree in graphic design. In 2011, he moved to Moscow where he joined the art scene and became a member of the international association “The Art of the Peoples of the World” NIKOR and the association “Arts of the folks world,” both under the jurisdiction of the Moscow State Museum of Modern Art. In addition to painting, he works with video and graphic design as well as artistic marketing. He participates in juried invitational exhibitions in China, Portugal, Italy, and Russia. He is the recipient of two Art Week Moscow awards. During his studies, he acquired valuable knowledge in art history and experimented with various artistic media—including oil painting, graphic arts, and sculpture. His painting has been characterized from the beginning by a surrealistic approach with elements of the strangely comic and ironic.
