Wedenig Elizabeth – Becoming an Island II

About the author:She was born in 1980 in St. Veit, Austria. After one year of study at the Latvian Academy of Art in Riga, she returned to Austria and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, pedagogical department, graduating in 2005, and in 2001 attended painting studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Athens. Since 2004, she has also studied painting at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 2008. Her artistic work is focused on painting. So far, she has held about twenty solo exhibitions and participated in around 50 group exhibitions in Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, and the USA. She has received several awards for her work and participates in mentoring programs and artist residencies in Austria and Slovenia. She is involved in artistic projects and exhibition organizations such as the interdisciplinary art project “Das Graue Bb” with three other colleagues. She works in Carinthia and Vienna.
