About the author:
She was born in 1960 in Pimi and grew up in Rostock, Germany. After attending high school in Hamburg, she studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden from 1981 to 1987 in the class of Prof. Gerhard Kettner and completed her master’s degree under the mentorship of Prof. Johannes Heisig. She lived in Berlin for a long time, and today she resides in the picturesque Klein Warin (Nordwestmecklenburg).
Numerous scholarships as forms of artistic development took her to many countries such as the USA, Gotland, Japan, and Iceland. She has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions worldwide. She was awarded the Art Prize by the Meddenburg insurance group, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Her works are part of many public and private art collections in Germany and abroad. She is one of the most interesting artists in her homeland. Her work is not characterized by spectacular effects but by restraint and poeticism, and due to the media she works with, such as folded and collaged paper, she often gives her works very poetic, metaphorical titles.
